From Camand Capital launching a $22mio 176-unit project in Reynoldstown, HPC a 3,000m2 space outside of Paris, The Collective securing a site in Dublin, Vivahouse announcing Maida location, big developers are now very aware of the potential behind coliving.
The near future will tell us how successful those large spaces will be.
Multigenerational is on its rise
As many as 41% of Americans buying a home are considering accommodating an elderly parent or an adult child, according to a survey conducted by John Burns Real Estate Consulting. An interesting view on the future of housing (read here).
UK Housing Minister speaks coliving
Eoghan Murphy spoke on Friday morning in favor of coliving. His biggest challenge is “not of increasing supply, which is happening now quite dramatically, but what we’re building and where”. After introducing changes in October 2017 to the minimum-apartment-size guidelines, developers have been criticized for abusing the ratio of shared and lived space. The question now becomes balancing quality of life and return on investment (read more here).
