Coliving Incubator Program by Artof.Co
Starting a coliving business can be a lonely journey.
Ironic!! right?
We set out to build a community-driven business, and often times we find ourselves alone with a lot of decisions to make. We also make mistakes along the way and learn from them.
What if I tell you that you can avoid a lot of mistakes in your coliving journey if you find someone who has been through it?
That’s what Gui and I have been building these last few months.
The Artof.Co Coliving Incubator is a 12-month milestone based program helping coliving entrepreneurs successfully conceptualize and build sustainable coliving businesses.
Designed by and for coliving founders, it gives participants the latest operating insights, educates on major entrepreneurial pitfalls, and offers templates and resources to fast-track their growth.
Participants receive access to the online program, expert advisory, weekly masterminds, and visibility at the Artof.Co demo day.

How Millennials and Gen Zers Are Buying With Friends Amid Impossible Home Costs
Following the summary and my take on the article written by Anjulie Rao, the illustrations are by Silvia Reginato in Dwell. Read the full article here.
- The article talks about, friends Emily Winter and Kerry Couch transformed their dream of owning a house together in Chicago’s Logan Square into a reality through cooperative home buying during the pandemic.
- Cooperative buying has been around since the 1920s in Chicago, often seen in multifamily buildings.
- This approach is perfect for those whose incomes haven’t kept up with housing prices, as it allows for splitting maintenance and mortgage costs.
- Key steps in this process include open financial discussions and creating an operating agreement. For instance, Teagan Walsh-Davis bought a two-flat with friends to meet their needs for art spaces and proximity to parks.
- Chuck McKeever highlights the importance of honest financial discussions as he buys property with another couple in Detroit.
- Pooling incomes through cooperative buying helps people qualify for mortgages, even with non-traditional financial backgrounds.
- Practical management involves systems for tracking expenses, shared accounts, and clear rules to handle maintenance costs and responsibilities.
- Beyond financial benefits, cooperative living offers a sense of community and
support, reducing isolation and strengthening social networks. - This trend is growing, driven not only by financial reasons but also by the need for community, which provides a way to strengthen personal connections and create supportive living environments.

Why Digital Nomads Are Choosing Co-living
Let’s look at some pointers:
- Digital nomads struggle with finding community and suitable housing. Airbnb can
lead to isolation, and hostels lack professional infrastructure. - Coliving provides a supportive environment with high-speed internet, coworking spaces, and social events.
- The built-in community helps digital nomads with soft landing, simplifies logistics, and eases the transition to the new city.
